My daughter announced, “I am pregnant!”, and my anxiety went through the roof! I called Crossroads Care Clinic to schedule a pregnancy test to see how far along she was so that we could schedule an abortion, because my daughter is not ready to be a mom and I’m not ready to be a grandma!

They scheduled a pregnancy test and an ultrasound the same day. During the ultrasound, the nurse was able to determine that my daughter was 11.5 weeks, making her 2 days shy of the NC deadline for abortion.

When the baby showed up on the screen my daughter exclaimed, “Oh, my goodness. Is that a hand? That’s a real baby! I can’t do an abortion now!”, and I completely agreed with her as I watched this little life move around on the screen.

But I also knew she was not able to be a parent right now. The nurse was so kind and helpful as she shared about adoption, and we knew this was a good choice for us. We left with all the information we needed to confidently make the decision to choose adoption for this child.
